Ironically, I got this sleeveless sweater from my Trunk Club stylist just before we left for our trip to Spain. I knew it wouldn’t work for the hot Spanish weather, but I suspected it would be perfect for a transitional fall outfit here. Lately, the mornings are chilly (or downright cold, sometimes) but the afternoons are quite sunny and warm. Rather than wear two outfits per day, I came up with this transitional fall outfit!
I love this Madewell sweater tank because it’s heavy enough to lay nicely and not cling, but it is still soft and cozy. The ruffles are a fun detail and aren’t something I would have chosen for myself, but that’s kinda the point of Trunk Club, to get outside your fashion box. 😉 The neutral color means it will go with absolutely anything!
My cranberry jeans are a fun wardrobe addition now that the weather is cooling off. I mean technically you can wear this color year round, but the pretty berry color reminds me of fall, so I packed them when we went to San Francisco a couple weeks ago. They are almost more of a twill than a denim; super soft and stretchy.
These Tory Burch sandals were a splurge using Nordstrom rewards dollars. The sandals are simple and classic, and according to reviewers, last forever! They are dressier than a flip flop but perfectly casual as well. I’ve worn them countless times already and know they will be a good long term investment piece. On a cooler day, booties would be cute with this outfit as well.
My J.Crew Factory denim jacket is sold out, but I linked another one from there instead. I like the updated wash that they are offering this year. As soon as the sun came out, I ditched the jacket, but it was the perfect layering piece to start and end the day!
What’s your favorite kind of transitional fall outfit?
