Every year, my husband’s office has a dinner to celebrate the success of the prior year. It is always during the week, which means most people are coming straight from work. I wanted a look that was more elevated than my everyday mom style, but wouldn’t be too dressy compared to everyone else. The moment I found this tie sleeve top from Anthropolgie, I knew it would be perfect! I like the pop of color and because the style is simple, it is very versatile. By adding dark skinny jeans and heels, I’m ready for a night out. If I paired the tie sleeve top with distressed denim and tennies, it would be a cute casual look.
I found this tie sleeve top on sale at Anthropologie, and the good news is that it’s still in stock! The price is great (under $40) and it’s also available in a cute pattern. I went with the solid color because I thought it would be easier to dress up. I can’t wait to wear this with white jeans and wedges for spring!
These shoes are a knock off of a very expensive designer shoe. When I found them at Sole Society and saw the great reviews, I decide to give them a try. I’ve been in the market for a pair of nude heels and I was drawn to the cute straps and gold studs on these ones. Most of the time I will probably wear them with jeans and I love how they add a little edge to the look. We were standing for much of the evening and the shoes were quite comfortable.
I got these earrings from my Trunk Club stylist and love how delicate and pretty they are. At $28, they are a great investment and I will get a lot of wear out of them. She sent me a necklace too, but it wasn’t right with the neckline of this shirt. I will enjoy wearing it with other shirts, but for this look, I chose my Stella and Dot engravable necklace.
The evening started off with a cooking lesson, and then you have a chance to help with the preparation. Or, you can spend the whole time chatting instead like me. Ha. The food was good and it was nice to get out and try something new. Usually January is a slow month with a bit of a reprieve from sports and other commitments, but that’s not the case this year! I hope your year is off to a good start!
