It’s no secret that I’m a fan of pretty much anything made of sweatshirt material. After all, I posted about a sweatshirt dress and a sweatshirt jacket within a few days of one another! You can now add another favorite to my list of sweatshirt apparel: this tie sleeve blazer. I found it on a recent shopping trip to Nordstrom to check out what’s new for spring. You can read more about my findings here.
I couldn’t wait to style this blazer because it makes you look put together with so little effort, and it is comfy and soft. That’s pretty much a win, if you ask me. And can we talk about the tie sleeves? Such a fun and unique detail. I’m loving all the bows this spring! It is available in a few colors. I was drawn to the grey, but I chose this olive green to try something different. Another brand makes a very similar tie sleeve blazer and it is available in stripes as well as solids! It’s a bit more expensive (though on sale!), but if you like stripes, you should check it out.
There are so many things you could pair this tie sleeve blazer with. For work, I would wear it with a button down blouse and slacks. With a t-shirt and tennis shoes, this would be great for running errands or dropping the kids off at school. Here, I chose a camisole and heeled booties. This camisole is a few years old from Express, but they still carry a similar version and the price is great. The regular price is $40, but they run deals all the time. It’s currently 40% off, making it just $24!
My gold Bauble Bar earrings and necklace add a bit of simple elegance to the look. I’ve been struggling to find tops to pair this necklace with because of the length. It would obviously work well with a higher neckline, but I tend to prefer a more open neckline because I think it’s more flattering on me. Although this necklace would be more visible with a different neckline, I like the texture and interest that it adds to this look.
With the warmer temps we’ve been having, I couldn’t resist shooting this with peep toe booties instead of closed toe ones. These booties are back down to the price they were last summer during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale ($90), which is a great deal for the brand and quality. I bought them late in the fall and I have already gotten a lot of wear out of them. The taupe color would be so cute for spring!
Our weekend was full of sports and family activities. It was actually much busier than I prefer, but it’s fine because the kids are off all week! Hurray! I hope you’ve had a fabulous and relaxing holiday weekend!
