During the Nordstrom Anniversary sale over the summer, there was one particular pair of Vince Camuto booties that haunted me. They were literally everywhere. Even Facebook knew I wanted them and they kept appearing in the sidebar ads! I had them in my cart pretty much the entire duration of the sale, but couldn’t commit. The heel is higher than I typically wear, and even though reviewers claim they are comfortable, I wasn’t sure they would work for me. And yes, they are actually comfortable, even with a four inch heel. However, every time I put them on, my son wonders why I’m wearing such tall shoes when I am already tall (I’m 5’7″).
So the sale ended, and I didn’t purchase them, but I couldn’t stop thinking about them. I’m sure you can relate! I found them on Poshmark and decided to go for it. Poshmark can be a great place to find gently used clothing at reduced prices, but the downside is that you can’t try on before you buy, and all sales are final. Nordstrom, on the other hand, has free shipping and free returns, so it is always a safe bet. Plus their return policy is amazing! Amazon is another great place to buy shoes. They too have free shipping and returns, and if you have Prime, you’ll get them in just two days.
Now that I own the booties, I want to pair them with everything. I was worried they would be too high for my daily life, but because they are a block heel, they don’t look too fussy. I love the peep toe because it bridges the gap perfectly between fall and winter. Who am I kidding, you can basically wear these year round in California, but for those of you who live somewhere with an actual winter, that’s not going to work.
Black and white stripes is another trend that I’m loving this year. I don’t think you can really call stripes trendy – they are pretty much timeless. This peplum top is a bit more interesting than a basic t shirt. Because it has some volume around the bottom, I paired it with a high waist skinny jean to balance it out. In spite of the warm weather around here lately, I’ve managed to wear these booties quite a few times already and am excited to put together some cooler weather looks with them in the future. Fall has to come eventually, right??
