I now own this versatile ruched dress in two colors and I wouldn’t mind having it in a few more! I’ve worn it with a cardigan and booties in the winter (see it styled in this post) and most recently, with flip flops in the South Pacific! Next up is tennies and a denim jacket I think! I’ve tried other body con dresses but none of them compare to this universally flattering ruched dress.
For starters, the price point on this versatile ruched dress is good (full price is usually under $50) and it goes on sale frequently. Right now two of the colors are on sale for just $34! It is available in long sleeves as well, though I prefer to stick with the sleeveless version and just add a layer over it if necessary.
There’s something about the fabric and cut that makes the dress lay really well. It’s more fitted than I typically wear, but I think it looks flattering even without Spanx underneath. I tried on this dress a couple months ago and although I love the stripes, the material showed every little lump and bump. It definitely requires Spanx, which is why I didn’t take it to Tahiti! Too hot.
This versatile ruched dress is a blend of polyester and cotton. The cotton makes it fairly casual, but you could dress it up with a statement necklace and heels. I just got these block heeled sandals that would be cute with any color of this dress! I think the black in particular would work really well for a dressier event.
OK so maybe scheduling this post for October wasn’t the best idea. When I was editing these photos I was remembering how gorgeous Tahiti was and wondering when we could go back. That may not happen for awhile, but at least I have this versatile ruched dress hanging in my closet to remind me of that time we went to Tahiti. 😉
