Styling a Jumpsuit for Any Season

Fashion

21 Jan

styling a jumpsuit for any seasonI just realized that this is my first post of 2019! As you probably guessed from the title, it’s about styling a jumpsuit for any season. This jumpsuit from Nordstrom recently made its way into my shopping cart. I didn’t need it for any specific occasion, but I knew that a versatile piece like this should be in my closet. It’s under $100, and I thought it would be perfect for our trip to Hawaii. Then I got to thinking that with a couple of quick tweaks, this jumpsuit could easily work for fall or winter as well!

styling a jumpsuit for any seasonBecause this jumpsuit has sleeves, it automatically lends itself more easily to fall and winter wear. I featured some sleeveless jumpsuits last year (here and here) and I think you’ll agree that those are decidedly more spring/summer pieces. Although this BB Dakota jumpsuit still requires a jacket, you won’t feel silly removing your jacket and revealing spaghetti straps in the middle of January. I suppose in California anything goes since we don’t get much of a winter, but I do love the versatility of the sleeves.

styling a jumpsuit for any seasonI chose heels and a leather moto jacket to make this look work for fall or winter. If you live someplace colder, I would choose a pea coat like this camel one I recently purchased from Old Navy. You could wear booties and socks rather than heels for additional warmth. A scarf would be cute too! The options are endless!

styling a jumpsuit for any seasonIn Hawaii, I wore this exact outfit but with flip flops because they took up less space in my suitcase. Ha! These Michael Kors wedges are equally cute and a bit dressier. I loved the flip flops with it for an easy casual look. We mostly ate in, but for a nice dinner out, the wedges would have been my pick. In spring, when the evenings are cool, I would add a cardigan or cute blazer.

styling a jumpsuit for any seasonI do realize that styling a jumpsuit for any season might be a tiny bit trickier if you live someplace with a harsher climate. However, with the right additions, this jumpsuit can be worn most of the year, making it a worthy investment! Next month, we will be having dinner with my husband’s office to celebrate a successful 2018. This jumpsuit will strike the perfect balance between casual and fancy!

One of my blogging goals for 2019 is to incorporate more styling tips into my posts. Is there anything specific you would like to see? Let me know how I can help! Hope your week is off to a great start!
