Now that fall weather is finally here, I can’t get enough of fun layers. I am not typically a big fan of scarves, but that’s largely because I don’t know how to wear them. Remember the blanket scarf trend from last year? No amount of YouTube tutorials could help me make them look right. I ended up looking like I was being eaten by the scarf, which is hardly fashionable. Enter the infinity scarf. They are so simple and so cute and even the most inept of scarf wearers can’t mess them up. Phew!
As you can see, the entire scarf is in one long circle, so all you have to do it put it over your head like a necklace, cross it, and loop back over your head. Voila. I look polished, not strangled, and have managed to add a pop of color and design to this basic outfit! This scarf is just $24 from Nordstrom.
My striped shirt is old from Banana Republic, but the nice thing about stripes is that they are classic and never go out of style, so I was able to find a similar one with the same side slits, which is linked here. I think my shirt is a bit shorter than it was when I first bought it (whoops), so I should probably go ahead and buy a new one. With a bit more length, this would look cute over my faux leather pants. But I digress…
7 for All Mankind is hands down my favorite denim brand. They were the first designer jeans I bought many years ago, and although there are other brands I wear and love, 7FAM remains my favorite. They fit well, stretch the right amount, and are so comfy. I bought these black jeans during the height of the “must have distressing on everything” trend last year. I might need to branch out a bit moving forward, but I do like the way this pair looks. I wasn’t sure about the holes placed right over the knees, but as it turns out, it really increases your mobility! Ha. I tried this look with black booties and that looked nice too, but I liked how the lighter bootie balances out the darker outfit and ties in with the scarf. The ones I’m wearing are perforated, but my other favorites (here) would work for when the weather is rainy or cold and you want something a bit warmer.
It’s supposed to be in the 70s all week with no rain. We are planning to run our local Turkey Trot 5k on Thanksgiving Day, and it should be a beautiful day! Nothing like starting out your day with a run before overeating!

I love this look and I love infinity scarves! What are your thoughts on denim jackets? I have one that is from last year but I think they change styles every year on denim so I already feel like mine is out!

Truthfully I had the same one from Gap for over 10 years. I replaced it with this one from J Crew Factory last year, but mainly because I was bored with the old one, not because it was out of style! I gave it to my friend and now she’s enjoying it. So unless yours has some very specific details on it, I bet it’s still plenty current. 🙂
