The last two pieces of my Stitch Fix box were my favorite. If you didn’t catch the first part of my review, you can read it here. I specifically requested colored denim and a fun top that would be suitable for wearing on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas, or at one of the many evening events that tend to come up this time of year. These pieces were exactly what I was hoping for, and I appreciate that my stylist sent what I asked for! What I love about these two pieces is that they look great together, but they can also both be styled separately to form more casual looks. Did I convince you to try it for yourself? Sign up here!
This shirt is by Truly Poppy and the price is $58.00. The black lace detail on the shoulder is very feminine, and the crossover cut is flattering. This type of cut is practical for hiding the fact that you may have eaten too much at dinner! I love that it can be paired with heels and dressed up for a night out, or paired with jeans and flats for a lunch with friends. The versatility and uniqueness of the piece make it worth its price tag, in my opinion. I am definitely keeping this! The bracelet is a gold cuff that I received from Stitch Fix in my last order. I linked two similar current options below.
The cranberry jeans are by Lila Ryan and the price is $98. I have no problem spending that much on a pair of jeans, but if I do, I have high expectations. I’m not sure this pair met those expectations. First of all, there are no front pockets! Silly, I know, but I really like pockets in my jeans, especially for everyday mom life. One of my kids is always handing me something to carry, it seems. I thought the overall length was a teeny bit on the short side for my long legs. The shorter length is great for wearing with booties, but for wearing with flat shoes or even heels, I would have preferred a bit more length. I love the color and the feel of the fabric was great. If I don’t keep this pair, I will be purchasing one of the pairs linked below, because I’ve been searching for colored jeans and will wear them often.
I threw on some regular jeans and black ankle strap flats to show how this shirt can be worn more casually. On a cooler day, this would be cute with a black moto jacket. In addition to the color combination and style of this shirt, I absolutely love that it can be worn with a regular bra. By the end of summer, I want to throw my racerback and strapless bras in the trash because they are not the most comfortable for all day wear. A shirt that doesn’t require those will get a lot of use in my wardrobe! I love these simple black ankle strap flats. They go with everything and the ankle strap makes them a bit more interesting than a simple black flat.
There are a million outfits you could use colored jeans for, especially if you have a lot of neutrals in your closet like I do. Here, I chose a simple grey sweater and floral shoes. My sweater is BP from Nordstrom last season, so it’s sold out, but two very similar ones are linked below. BP is Nordstrom’s own brand and they are a great brand for basic pieces. The prices are great and the pieces are always on trend. These shoes are from JC Penney. Amazon has a similar pair with a similar price point, below. For $15, you can’t really go wrong!
Let me know what you think of these last two pieces. If you have any personal experience with Stitch Fix, I’d like to hear that too!
