One of the requests I get often is to occasionally feature showcase less expensive denim. There are certainly reasons to invest in designer denim, especially if you wear jeans as much as I do. However, a trendy pair such a boyfriend jeans, it can be worthwhile to spend less, especially if you find a great fit at a great price! Then you don’t have to feel guilty if you pass them on after a year or two! Today I’m giving you my first roundup of spend vs save: boyfriend jeans.
These AG boyfriend jeans were one of my first purchases during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Second to joggers (which I wrote about here), boyfriend jeans are hands down the most comfortable pants to travel in. They are also so cute for everyday life! I like the cuff on these ones, but they aren’t stitched, so you can wear them unrolled too if you like the extra length. Or you can make the cuff wider for a different look! So many options.
My shirt has been bouncing in and out of stock and is currently unavailable. I’ll add the link if it comes back in stock, but I’ve linked some other cute options in the meantime. I love J.Crew for a good graphic tee. In fact I just ordered this one to add to my collection because I love the different colored fonts. My mules are the perfect transitional shoe and I’ve been wearing them a ton now that the temps are finally a little cooler.
I’ve heard great things about Kut from the Kloth and when I found this pair for under $100, I knew I had to try them. While the denim isn’t quite as soft as the AG ones, and they don’t hold their shape as well (they definitely stretch out with wear and would need to be washed more frequently), I really love the fit and the wash. In fact, my husband thought he might the fit of this pair better than the AG ones!
I do recommend sizing down in this particular pair, but that’s pretty typical of boyfriend jeans unless you like a baggier fit. I also sized down in the AGs.
Which pair is your favorite? Are you a fan of the boyfriend jeans trend? Let me know if you liked this spend vs save: boyfriend jeans, and if so, what you’d like to see next time!
