Ever since I tried on a bright orange sweater that was perfect in every way except for the color, I’ve been on the hunt some something more flattering. While bright orange doesn’t work for me, there is a prettier, more softer orange that has a bit of brown and is currently trending: rust. I’m sharing two rust colored pieces for fall that I recently purchased and rounding up a bunch more items that would be a fun addition to any fall wardrobe!
This Madewell option is like a perfect cross between a sweater and a top. I love the soft ribbed fabric, the full sleeve, and shorter length – no front tuck required! Although it is clearly in the orange family, it is soft enough to work with almost any skin tone I think.
I paired this with high rise jeans which is probably your best bet since the top is not super long. Sometimes I don’t want to have to mess with tucking my shirt in, so I really like shorter options to throw on and go. Shorter tops also layer well under moto jackets like this one!
This super soft BP top photographs more brown than it looks in real life, but it’s definitely less orange than the first option. It’s on the longer side, including the sleeves, which makes it so cozy for a cooler day!
While we’re at it, let’s discuss my jeans and shoes. Every time I wear these wedge sneakers I get tons of compliments! They were actually in the sale section by mistake at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I didn’t realize I had paid full price until I got home! However, they were just too darn cute to return so I had to keep them! Totally worth it. The jeans were an Amazon find and I love the hemline in front. This is my first pair of Paige jeans (I do have a pair of shorts) and I’m impressed! The fit is great and they don’t stretch out.
Here are some of my other favorites for integrating rust colored pieces for fall into your wardrobe! Which is your favorite?
