Ready for Rain

Fashion

19 Oct

It’s supposed to be 91 in a few days.  I can’t even. This week, however, it feels like fall, and there was even a chance of rain at one point. The moment the temperature dropped below 70, I realized a couple of things. First, I should probably buy uniform pants for my kids because it will actually be cold at some point. Note to self. Two, once it does rain, I get to wear my rain boots! That is probably the only thing I enjoy about a rainy day, truthfully. Don’t get me wrong, I know we need rain; I just prefer that all of it happen overnight, k?

My husband told me that Hunter rain boots were a waste of money because it really doesn’t rain much here. Why is he so practical? So I did what every good wife in my position would do. I searched and searched and waited until I found such a good deal that even he had to agree the boots were probably worth keeping. And, RED. In my case, I got a color that was being phased out, so they were marked way down. Amazon has some sizes in the exact color I own (Dulse) and I have linked to them below. There are many other fun colors to choose from that have more sizes in stock.

The Hunter original gloss rain boot is also linked below. I like that style a lot too. However, when I found the Hunter refined boot, I immediately was drawn to the cleaner, slimmer lines. Let’s be honest, a rain boot is probably not the most attractive shoe you will ever own, but I like how the refined version looks a bit slimmer on my foot, and the heel isn’t as chunky.

I searched around and found some less expensive, well rated options for stylish rain boots. I included some shorter ones too in case you prefer that style. Personally, I like the tall ones because they do a better job of keeping my pants dry. However, I don’t generally use an umbrella because I’m usually carrying twelve things and keeping track of the kids, so maybe that’s the real cause of my wet pants…

The exact tie front sweatshirt I’m wearing has unfortunately sold out, but there are two very similar options below. Similarly, my jeans are two years old which means that wash isn’t available, but I’ve linked to the exact style in some other washes. OK, bring on the rain! Or a heat wave… but if you see me next week sporting shorts and rain boots, don’t judge.

Thanks for the feedback! It’s definitely challenging to write in a voice that sound natural, so it’s awesome to hear that the real me is coming through clearly. 🙂
