Yep, it’s another blue and white shirt. I was almost embarrassed to have my husband take these pictures because I knew he would tease me about the shirt. But what can I say? A girl can have her favorites, right?? I was chatting with my aunt this week and telling her about this post and my obsession with blue and white. She told me a fun story about how my mom selected a blue and white outfit for her first official date with my dad. Well there you go! My love of blue and white is in the genes, obv. For those who don’t share my obsession, I’m happy to report that this Madewell Courier shirt comes in a variety of colors and patterns.
I am kicking myself that I didn’t photograph the back of this Madwell courier shirt because it has four buttons down the back which is such a cute detail! Blogger fail. You can take a look at the pics here if you want to see. I did size down in this shirt. The extra small and small both fit, but the extra small was a bit narrower and not quite so boxy. If you plan to front tuck the shirt when you wear it, it wouldn’t matter. But I wanted the option of wearing it not tucked as well, so I went with the smaller size.
The crisp blue and white stripes on this Madewell courier shirt were just begging to be paired with white denim. Honestly you could wear this shirt with just about anything, but I like how it looks with white. I’ve never followed the guideline about not wearing white after Labor Day and I have no idea who made that rule up anyway! Did I mention it’s 91 degrees here today? It’s hard to focus on fall fashion in the midst of a heatwave.
That said, to make this outfit work for a cooler day, I’d add a cargo jacket and booties. You could even do tall boots for extra warmth. The sandals I’m wearing are the ones I purchased for our trip to Spain and I wound up wearing them almost every day. They are so comfy! I finished the look with my rose gold “boss” necklace from The Sleek Kitty. I love how her custom pieces compliment any outfit.
The boys have just one more week of school until fall break. Woohoo! I don’t know of any other districts that have this week off, and it’s the perfect midpoint between the start of school and Thanksgiving. We are still getting our feet under us and we are tired, especially my middle schooler! The break is perfectly timed and I can’t wait. Hope your weekend is a good one!
