Each time we travel, I find myself wishing that my travel look was a bit more polished. I arrive at our destination feeling like I need a shower, any makeup that I happened to apply that morning long gone. While I can’t change the makeup part (or can I?!), I can change my outfit to be more stylish without sacrificing practicality! Jogger pants are the perfect happy medium – stylish and comfy, not to mention lightweight! Rather than writing a post just about a cute travel look, I’m giving you three ideas on how to style jogger pants.
Since the travel outfit is what sparked my idea for this post, I am showing you that look first. Let me tell you, I wish I had worn this on our flight to Hawaii last week! I can’t remember the last time I’ve been so cold on a plane! Unfortunately I hadn’t even packed a long sleeve shirt because I knew I wouldn’t need it once we got there! Fail.
My cardigan would have been so good for the plane, even if it did sit in my suitcase the rest of the week. I was kicking myself for not bringing it! I own two of these Barefoot Dreams cardigans and they are worth every penny. They are the softest fabric I’ve ever worn, wash beautifully, and pair well with just about any outfit! I am wearing it over a t-shirt here, but for a warm weather destination I’d go with a tank top underneath. As soon as you land, you can trade out the flats for flip flops and ditch the sweater!
This second look is probably the one I’ll wear most often – easy, every day casual. This top is from Amazon fashion and was just $26. It’s has a light fleece lining, which means it’s perfect for a chilly morning, but the short sleeves mean you can wear it even as the day warms up. But really, just about any top would work for this look! A graphic or leopard tee would also be fun.
For shoes, again, pretty much anything goes here. My first instinct was to pair Converse Shorlines with this outfit, but I was excited about my new mules so I went with them instead! I have to say, most mules feel like they are going to fall off my feel but these feel secure and comfortable. The calf hair pair I’m wearing is currently sold out but worth stalking – I expect they will restock after the Anniversary Sale ends. In the meantime, I’ve linked some other cute options below.
I’m always on the hunt for a date night outfit that doesn’t involve a dress or jeans. Jeans are my fave but sometimes I want to do something different for date night. Dresses are fun, but I’m not always in the mood to wear one, depending on where we are going. So when I was coming up with ideas for how to style jogger pants, I thought they would be perfect for my third look! I think the pants would be adorable with an oversized sweater and flats or booties for colder weather, but I love them paired with this feminine cami for summer.
Next time I will try front tucking the cami for a bit more definition at the waist, but because the top is not too long, that isn’t necessary. Both work, so have fun playing around with your look to figure out what you like best! A denim jacket or leather moto would be cute with this look for fall.
As a side note, if you are in the market for some jogger pants, my research kept leading me back to Athleta. They have tons of styles to choose from, and they all get amazing reviews. Plus they carry both petite and tall sizes! I’m wearing the tall here. For reference, I’m 5’7″ and have a 32 inch inseam. The regular length was fine, but I liked the tall a bit better.
Which look is your fave? I hope you found these ideas of how to style jogger pants helpful!
