Last year I did a post on what to wear for New Year’s Eve, but this year I thought it would be fun to round up a few outfits that could be worn for many different holiday events. I’m also teaming up with eleven other amazing bloggers to give you as many ideas as possible! Here are five holiday outfit ideas ranging from casual to fancy!
A fun graphic tee
This outfit is probably the most practical for my current season of life. Although I adore getting dressed up, we haven’t gone out on New Year’s Eve in years because it’s expensive and hard to find a sitter! But, we always do a nice dinner at home (last year we had lobster!) and this cute graphic tee would be perfect for that.
If I was heading out to a casual dinner or to a friend’s house, this plush fleece bomber adds a little bit of luxury to the outfit while also being extremely practical (it’s so warm!). Is it a bit over the top for school drop off? Absolutely. But you can bet you’ll see me wearing it there anyway. 😉
A suede skirt
I’ll be wearing this exact outfit on repeat basically until spring. It’s the perfect combination of cozy and chic! You’ve probably seen this sweater in my instagram feed already. It’s so so soft and I like it enough that I bought it in two colors!
I’m pretty sure you’re also aware of my affinity for these booties. I love how they take an outfit of neutral, solid colors and add so much visual interest! This suede skirt is almost sold out but I linked another option by the same brand.
A fancy sweater
Wouldn’t you know it, this cute sweater is already sold out at Anthropologie. Hilariously, of the items in this post, the sold out pieces are the ones with sequins. Go figure!! Since sequins are clearly trending this season, I found some other very similar and equally cute options.
Although I paired this with jeans, you could easily wear a sparkly sweater with a pencil skirt or colored slacks if you wanted something a bit dressier. It would also be a great piece for transitioning from the office to an evening holiday event if you paired it with black slacks.
Velour pants
How cute is the bow on these pants?! I wanted the pants to be the focal point of the outfit, so I paired them with a simple cami. I think it’s important to keep the silouette of the top as narrow as possible since the pants have some volume. A bodysuit would be perfect with these pants too, but I don’t own any… yet.
Black or gold shoes would be so fun with this look too! I love that chunkier heels are in style right now. They are both practical and comfortable.
Something with sequins
No post on holiday outfit ideas would be complete without more sequins, am I right?! The first sequined top I ordered for this shoot sold out in a hot second. I quickly ordered a replacement and then wouldn’t you know it, it sold out too!! I’m telling you, sequins are it this holiday season. I adore this color blue but there’s a gorgeous gold top from J.Crew that’s also calling my name.
I chose black pants for this outfit but again, a sequined top would go with almost anything! You could choose a pencil skirt, a faux leather mini skirt, jeans… the options are endless!
