I had to laugh when I was deciding on the title for this post. On the Nordstrom website, my top is called a sweater. However, on the Free People website, it’s called a sweatshirt. Go figure! Ha. I personally think it’s more of a sweatshirt feel, so that’s what I’m going with, Free People Sweatshirt. But either way, how good are these sleeves and the cropped style? So easy to throw on in the morning. This Free People Sweatshirt comes in several colors, depending on which retailer you shop at! I like how the sleeve is full but tapers at the wrist. The wide neckline allows you to wear it on or off the shoulder. Given my disdain for strapless bras, I prefer to wear it on the shoulder, but it’s awfully cute worn the other way too!
I chose my new Rag and Bone jeans for this look but yesterday I wore this Free People sweatshirt with my Madewell high rise jeans from this post. Both work well! For mom life, the higher rise is probably a bit better so I don’t have to worry about exposing my tummy. Ha. My shoes are my Jeffrey Campbell booties from last year. Thankfully they make a similar version this year. They were my most worn shoes last fall and winter! Such a good purchase!
We took these pictures when we stayed overnight in San Francisco last week. I lived in the city for six years and my brother always called it the Windy City, even though Chicago officially has that title. It sure was windy that evening! Granted we were all the way out by the ocean at Lands’ End, but still. Windy and cold. I definitely prefer my slightly warmer Silicon Valley weather.
My husband’s birthday was this week and we’ve scheduled a sitter for a night away just the two of us this weekend. We haven’t been away since January, and given everything that’s happened this year, I think it’s long overdue! We wanted to go to Wine Country like we did for his birthday last year (which I documented in my very first blog post!) but it’s harvest and everything is sold out. Instead, we are heading to Carmel. It will be nice to get away. Happy Friday!
