I was recently perusing the new arrivals on the Nordstrom website when I came across this Topshop blouse. It stood out to me immediately for its date night potential, but it’s also perfect for the office! With a couple of small changes, this shirt forms the basis of the perfect day to night outfit. It is also available in three other colors!
I love a good wrap front top but most of them require strategic pinning to make sure you don’t accidentally flash anyone. This one is perfect because there is a small stitch to ensure that the shirt doesn’t flap open! So practical. I love the drapey tie front and the asymmetrical peplum hemline.
Black skinny ankle pants complete the look. I like the ankle length of these Halogen pants because they show off my cute shoes. I spent a bit more than usual on these Eileen Fisher heels but they are worth every penny! They are very comfortable and I love the block heel. The pants are zip up but do not have belt loops, which I really like. Even though I don’t work in an office these days, these pants will be a staple for date nights, dinners out, holiday events, etc.
Although the Eileen Fisher heels would absolutely work for an evening look, I feel like these leopard pumps are more fun! Black or nude strappy sandals would be cute too! In California sandals are wearable pretty much year round, but I wanted to include an option that works for those of you who get a real fall and winter. 😉
The final touch is a pretty red necklace and now I’m ready for anything the night has to offer! The one I’m wearing is retired Stella and Dot, but I linked one from Etsy that makes an equally lovely statement. A delicate earring would be pretty with this look, as would a gold cuff.
This time of year seems to be full of holiday open houses and other events, so a look like this one will be perfect. I hope you find this day to night outfit idea helpful!
