I found this blue dress online when shopping the Anthropologie after Christmas sale. Although this dress isn’t on sale, I am a firm believer that you should buy a good closet staple when you find it. This dress could be worn to a wedding, dinner out, a baby or bridal shower, etc. Have you ever had one of those frustrating shopping days in which you need something specific but can’t find it? I definitely have, which is why I snatched this dress up when I had the chance!
My favorite things about this dress are the cut, the color, and the fact that it has three quarter length sleeves. Ruching is great because it camoflages anything you might not love in the midsection without adding bulk. The fabric on this dress is soft and thin, and it drapes beautifully while still providing good coverage. I love that it comes to a tie at the side.
These shoes are the same ones from last week’s tie sleeve top post. I was so excited when they arrived that I immediately started brainstorming outfits to pair them with! Simple nude or black pumps would work with this dress too, but I like the detailing on these heels. My gold peep toe shoes from this post would also be amazing with this dress if I need a more formal look.
My necklace is a mixed metal design from Stella & Dot. An all gold statement necklace would be gorgeous with this dress, but I don’t have one currently. I suppose I should start dropping hints for Valentine’s Day. Too bad my husband and I don’t actually exchange gifts for Valentine’s! 😉 I love this gold necklace or this one with pearls.
We are flying back from our little getaway later today, and it has been such a gift to get time away. We have two more middle school tours this week, and then we have to turn in the form with our decision next week. I am hoping that the last two tours will clarify which school is the best fit for our son. I am still in denial that we will have a middle schooler! Thank goodness we have many months before he actually starts at the new school. In the meantime, I’m gonna do my best to pretend this isn’t happening, and try to find someplace to wear my new blue dress!
