Once we had a couple of days that hit 80 degrees, I mentally set my spring wardrobe aside and started pulling out my summer faves. However, I may have acted a bit prematurely, seeing as how it’s barely 70 today and will be this way for the foreseeable future. The good news, though, is that the cooler weather allowed me to wear a bell sleeve shirt I totally forgot I had purchased. That was a fun surprise! It was one of my J.Crew Factory finds a few months ago, and it’s perfect for this in between weather.
This bell sleeve shirt is basically just a fancy t-shirt, which means it’s right up my alley! It’s made entirely of cotton, is soft but structured, and has a lovely bell sleeve to add visual interest. As I’ve mentioned before, a t-shirt and jeans is basically my daily uniform, so I love to mix things up with fun colors and a statement sleeve! My friend commented yesterday that I have acquired several bell sleeve tops this season. I hadn’t realized it, but she’s right! Check out my other tops here and here. Bell sleeves are feminine, pretty, and on trend. What’s not to love?!
I paired the bell sleeve top with my Madewell high waisted jeans, although the top is long enough that it would also work well with low rise jeans. The main reason I chose these jeans is that they are the perfect length to show off my new wedges! I got these shoes last week and I have worn them multiple times already because they are so comfortable. The heel is 3 inches high but with a 1.5 inch platform, it’s basically like wearing a flat. 😉 Even my husband commented that he likes them, so that means they are keepers for sure!
I am happy to report that everyone was healthy for Mother’s Day and we had a mellow, relaxing day. We actually spent a couple hours at Lowe’s picking out plants, something I hadn’t done in years. My mom absolutely loved gardening and it was neat to spend time doing something she would have enjoyed too. We also got a fire pit! We’ve been wanting one forever and we found a compact one that is perfect for our yard. We finished the day with backyard s’mores (which, by the way, is the entire reason I wanted the fire pit to begin with). It was the perfect end to a lovely day!
