Wednesday morning I woke up so excited. Seriously though, going to the store to shop the NSale really is one of my favorite things all year! OK, grab a drink and buckle up, my friends. This is gonna be a long, but fun, post! Here are my 2021 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale dressing room selfies!
Sorry to start with a photo of my rear right off the bat, but that really is one of the best features of these jeans! The sizing is super funky though. I’m a 27 in Mothers (I was wearing Mothers when I came to the store in fact!) but these are 28 and honestly still a little tight through the waist. I love the wash, cut, and fit though. They are keepers; I just have to figure out which size is best. I was hoping this cute cardigan would be one of my splurge items this year, but I didn’t love it enough to justify the price.
This is one of my favorite looks from yesterday and I can see myself wearing it often. I wasn’t necessarily in the market for a new Rails flannel, but I love how sharp the black is! And again, they hold up really well over the years. These jeans are the AG slim boyfriend which I purchase every year and then return because my husband doesn’t love them. I’m not sure if it’s the wash, or if they are a little slimmer this year, but I love them! I also love these shoes. I love them so much I wanted to dig them out of the bag and wear them this morning. That’s the sign of a good purchase, don’t you think?
Here are two neutral sweaters that came home with me. I love the slight balloon sleeve of the camel sweater and I’m obsessed with the neckline detailing on the grey sweater. I’m wearing a medium in the camel sweater because that’s all they had, but I think I’ll stick with that size so I don’t lose any length. The grey sweater also comes in black. I’m tempted.
This tie front top wasn’t on my radar but when I saw it on the rack, I knew I needed to try it on! I love that you could dress it up for the office or wear it casually as I am here. These shoes were a must have and I love them. The price is great and I know from last year that the style is a comfortable one.
The pale blue sweater is Free People, which means you should size down. I am ordering in white only because there’s a Madewell sweater (below) that I bought in a similar color. The black and white striped sweater may not look particularly special in this photo, but it’s cozy, cotton, a great weight, and easy to style. I know I’ll wear it a lot.
I’ve seen this Madewell sweater (ribbed, left) in ivory on my instagram feed, but I didn’t know it came in other colors! This blush color is the perfect pale pink. The Madewell sweater on the right also comes in several colors, as well as a cute striped option that I’m considering.
This knit moto was another item at the top of my list. It’s such an outfit maker at a great price! I have it here with jeans but it would also be adorable over a dress. And can we talk about these shoes?! I originally went in for the brown but I haven’t owned black booties in years and as soon as I put them on, I was in love. I’m thankful for the lower heel! These will last for years and are a great investment piece.
Vince Camuto makes some of my favorite tops in the sale each year, and this was no exception. Both of these tops fit well, have fun detailing, and come in lots of colors. I had trouble deciding what to get!
Seeing these tops side by side is actually really helpful! The left is the top under the checkered blazer and is a great price ($30). The right is a designer splurge and while it is beautiful, I don’t think I’d wear it enough for the price.
This pilgrim collar blouse is popping up all over instagram and I didn’t think its was cute until I tried it on. I was pleasantly surprised! The animal print kind of disguises the collar but I decided to order it in ivory instead. The black top is a bodysuit which I love for a put together look, but it just didn’t fit me right. Too bad!!
The black v neck is a super soft top that is really a lounge top, but my store had it displayed with the clothes and I’m wearing it with jeans. Just call me a rebel. I might trade it for a different color as I have a similar cozy top already. The grey short sleeve top is great as a layering piece or on its own, but I thought it was too fitted in my normal size. I ordered one size up instead.
Seeing these photos side by side makes me realize that they would have been very cute paired together! The flowered tee is great now and then you can throw on this cardigan once the weather cools off. The color blocking on the sweater means it will pair well with just about anything!
I have two of these sleeveless tops from last year already, and I couldn’t resist this pattern when I saw it! I plan to wear it with jeans mostly, but I wanted to showcase this black skirt since the price is so good ($30). The camel dress was an expected win. It’s knit, but a pretty substantial knit so it just lays really nicely. The cut is flattering and I love that I can wear it now with sandals or in the fall with a jacket and booties.
Seeing these photos makes me think I should have sized down in this dress, so I’m going to try that. But how great is a t shirt dress to just throw on and go in the morning? Again, this works now or in the fall. Heck in California I can probably wear it just about year round! I paired it with a popular Madewell cardigan and the Frame booties.
I saved the best for last! Both these jackets came home with me and I can’t wait to wear them. I love that the color and the faux fur collar dress up an otherwise basic puffer. And the green jacket, well, it just grew on me. It’s warm and cozy and has a hood. Done.
I had heard that store inventory was a little light this year, but as you can see, I found so many great pieces! I also found at least two things that showed as sold out online but were in fact right there in store! Is something you want already gone? Check in with a sales associate in store as they can help. If a store has one or two items, it wouldn’t show up online, but the store can send it to you. Similarly, one item I’ve been wanting restocked this morning and I was able to order it.
If you made it to the end, congratulations!! Thanks for hanging in there and supporting my blog. Feel free to ask me any questions about fit or sizing. Also, be sure to follow along on instagram as I’ll be sharing new pieces there as they arrive. I hope you find these 2021 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale dressing room selfies helpful as you shop!
