The last time I set foot in Nordstrom was March 2nd for my friend’s birthday lunch (and a little shopping of course!). After more than five months, I was so thrilled to shop the NSale in person on Friday. Try on videos are saved in the NSale highlights on my insta account. Warning: I may have gone a little overboard. As I said in a recent post with my top picks, the entire sale can be previewed digitally. See something you like before you can shop? Add it to your wishlist and come back for it when your day arrives. Without further adieu, here are my 2020 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale dressing room selfies.
Obviously I had to start with jeans. I couldn’t help myself. I think this Rag and Bone boyfriend pair is the only low rise pair in the sale, if not the whole store. Ha! And you know what? They are so.dang.comfy. I like the raw hem. I folded the cuff up because I thought it looked cute but since it’s not hemmed that way, I can unfold them for more length during the colder months needed. Side note: I think the wash looks darker in person than it does online, but I’m OK with that!
These are also Rag and Bone, but this time the Cate skinny fit. I chose them because the back pockets are a little smaller than on the pair above. I also love the length. Cropped is trending right now but you need some longer pairs for when it gets colder, am I right? I love that there’s just a tiny bit of distressing (on one knee; hard to see in this photo).
I love the wash and fit of these cropped jeans. I didn’t bring them home because I’m not in the market for a cropped pair right now, especially since the boyfriend jeans above that I did purchase are also on the shorter side. These are AG and I own countless pairs of this brand. I’m always a 27, or 26 in their boyfriend style. These however were oddly tight in the waist, so you might size up just to be safe. Or since Nordstrom has free returns, buy two sizes and see which one works for you. The shirt that I’m wearing is from last year’s sale but they brought it back in different patterns and a few solid colors. I ordered the white!
This floral top is in need of white jeans and wedges for a dinner out! But it will also look adorable under a chunky cardigan with booties for fall. You know I love blue and white, so it should come as no surprise that I bought this one.
This Caslon rounded v-neck tee is popular every year but I’ve never actually bought one until now! Just $13, but I’m sorry to say the camo seems to be sold out online! There’s lots of other choices, and I suspect the camo may restock as well, so keep checking if this one is on your list.
This whole outfit came home with me. These jeans are Mother and while they are described as high rise, they definitely fit me like more of a mid rise, which I like better. They are very soft and also have just a bit of distressing. This lighter wash is on trend and is a fun addition to my denim collection. And this Madewell sweatshirt! Such a cute easy piece. It comes in blue and white but I forced myself to grab this color instead. I’m glad I did!
I also purchased this outfit. I had to get at least one blue and white top, right?? The cargo pants are a bit of a splurge but they might be the best fitting, most comfortable, softest pants I’ve worn in a long time. They are that good. So I know I’ll wear them a ton which makes the price justifiable. 😉 They don’t cost any more than a pair of designer jeans; it’s just that I wasn’t planning on buying them until I saw another blogger modelling them and then had to try them for myself. Oops.
Treasure and Bond had a similar shirt in the sale last year (you can see it styled in this post) but this year’s version is 55% linen so I had to pass. Both linen and wool are itchy to me which is a bummer because it rules out a lot of cute options! I did find a cotton popover from J.Crew that’s very similar. My store didn’t have it, but I might order it online.
Remember how I said I can’t do linen or wool? Well, this sweater has some wool in it but it is so cute that I bought it anyway. I can always layer it over a long sleeved shirt?? Truthfully I passed over this sweater when shopping online, but I think it’s much cuter in person. It has a slightly oversized fit, so size down if you prefer a slimmer fit. I’m wearing a small.
Besides denim, fall sweaters are the other items at the top of my wishlist. Topshop always has cute styles at a great price point. This v-neck sweater also comes in red, but I wasn’t in love. I do like the shorter length, but overall I was underwhelmed. I’m also afraid it might fuzz up pretty quickly.
Chelsea 28 has my heart. They made my favorite sweater from last year and I’m happy to report it’s back again this year. But let’s get back to the one in the photo. It can be worn on or off the shoulder and is just so, so soft. I love this color too! Needless to say, I did buy this.
Last year plaid blazers were a big trend for fall and I’m so glad they are back this season! Tweed is another fall trend and I love that this blazer combines them both. If I had an office job I would pair this with black pants and a silk cami. But it also looks cute with jeans and a white tee!
I wasn’t looking for a faux fur jacket but when I saw this one I had to try it on. It is so soft and warm and the price is great! Just $53. There is a gorgeous Vince teddy bear coat that might be worth the price if you live somewhere cold. But this BB Dakota cutie is perfect for a California girl! It also comes in black.
This cute tie waist top comes in a beautiful teal color that I’m more drawn to than the red, so I didn’t buy this top in store. But I do love its versatility. It would be great for work or weekend! I did purchase the skirt. The price is great (less than $40) and I think I could dress it up for date night or throw on tennies and a graphic tee. The fabric is a nice stretchy knit.
I’m stepping a bit out of my comfort zone with this form fitting knit dress. I bought it home in black because it’s so dang comfortable! It’s a great price too – just $36. There’s a similar sleeveless knit dress from another brand that I’m tempted to try because I might get more wear out of it. But in the meantime, this one is a keeper.
This Gibson cozy set is so soft and cute! It comes in a ton of colors and the pieces are sold separately so you can mix and match. You can also wear the top and joggers individually, which makes the whole set so versatile. I ended up buying the top in blue (currently sold out online), but I wish I had bought the black and white as well! Both pieces run large, so size down.
This PJ Salvage set is flying off the shelves, so to speak! Unfortunately the long sleeved set (priced at $50, and it also comes in grey) is almost sold out but I would keep an eye out for restocks. The shorts set has great stock and is even less expensive at $40.
I did an instagram poll asking for people to vote between this Franco Sarto pair of booties and this year’s version of the popular Vince Camuto booties. Although the Franco Sartos lost, I brought them home because I like the lower heel. But I also ordered the other ones in a darker color online. So the verdict is still out! They are both good for different reasons.
I have been these on a lot of other bloggers and truthfully, I wanted to try them for this post but had no plans to bring them home. Turns out I was wrong! I bought the Madewell mules last year (they are back this year too) and while I love the look of them, they honestly aren’t that comfortable. They are a little stiff and not great for lots of walking. These Steve Madden mules, on the other hand, are so comfy! I think I will wear them a lot. I usually size up half a size for a mule, so these are 8.5 rather than my typical 8.
Who knew a comfort shoe could be this cute? I love that this flat goes up higher on your foot and I think the print is adorable. They run wide, so I wound up going down half a size to a 7.5, which was much better in the width and still long enough.
One of the shoes on my wishlist was these P448s. I’ve heard they rival Golden Goose in fit, style, and quality. However, my store didn’t have them yet, so I tried these Steve Maddens tennies instead. What a great find for $60! They are lined with a cozy terrycloth fabric so you don’t need to wear socks. True to size. For the price I think I’ll keep these over the more expensive P448s.
Phew! Thanks for sticking with me! Please feel free to ask me any questions about fit or sizing! Also, be sure to follow along on instagram as I’ll be sharing new pieces there as they arrive. I hope you find these 2020 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale dressing room selfies helpful as you shop!
