We were out of town over the weekend, and as a result, I am now drowning in a list of things that I haven’t gotten done! Clean laundry is a requirement when your kids wear uniforms to school. Well, clean laundry is a requirement for pretty much everyone (I hope!), but with uniforms, I can’t pull something from the bottom of the drawer and call it good. It didn’t help that our washer decided to break down last week, so even though I had the best intentions of getting ahead on laundry before we left, I wasn’t able to get as much done as I would have liked. Oh well. Tomorrow is a new, and hopefully more productive, day!
The cold shoulder trend was puzzling to me when I first starting seeing them. I couldn’t figure out why you would want your shoulders exposed on a chilly day. However, on a short sleeved shirt like the one I’m wearing, the shoulder opening provides a fun style detail without sacrificing warmth. A cold shoulder sweater is a bit more confusing in its use. However, I tend to run warm, so who knows, a little extra ventilation could be just the thing! It’s kind of like distressed jeans, which you all know I love. Ha.
I have worn this shirt out to dinner a twice this past month. I like t shirts and I also enjoy dresses, but for so many occasions, a look somewhere in the middle is just right. Since my every day life is casual, I welcome the chance to dress up just a bit on a date night or fun dinner out. I thought a necklace might be too busy with this shirt, but I added a hoop earring to dress it up a bit.
This jacket was a lucky sale find at the end of last winter. It is real leather, and I got it for about a third of the retail price. There are so many imitation leather options that are really soft and good looking, but when I saw this one, I couldn’t pass it up. Amazon has a similar one from the same brand, and I’ve linked it below. I purchased mine from Lord & Taylor.
I’m wearing my open-toed booties as much as I can lately, because once the rain starts, they won’t work! It’ll be back to the rain boots I posted about recently. My ring was a $12 find from Nordstrom. While I would love to own the “real” version of this piece, sometimes it doesn’t make sense when you can get a good looking knock off for just twelve bucks! Nordstrom doesn’t have this currently, but Amazon has an identical one for just a few dollars more. With a ring at this price point, I feel comfortable wearing it anywhere because I don’t have to worry about it.
